About the Exhibition

The exhibition Cats, Art, Traditions, held at the Museo Civico Archeologico in Bologna from 13 September to 20 December 2024, celebrates the millenary bond between cats and humanity, exploring their influence on art, culture and traditions.
Our journey was born out of curiosity to explore not only the history of the cat as a pet, but also how it has influenced human culture. Visitors are invited to travel through ages and civilizations, discovering how these fascinating animals were revered, feared and loved in every corner of the world.
From ancient myths to modern symbolism, the exhibition offers a unique look at the cultural role of cats, testifying to the lasting impact and timeless beauty they have in our imaginations and our daily lives.
